Testing your pitch.mp4
Exercise
- Goal is to craft a 1-1.5 minute pitch. Remember to keep it conversational, and don’t fall into the trap of feeling you have to cover everything about your business!
- Note: You can’t have slides for this!
Step 1: Define your content
- Make sure you’ve covered
- Additional components to consider
Step 2: Craft your narrative
- How can you use stories to bring your pitch to life (maybe a customer story before or after your product. Maybe your own founder story)
- How can you thread together elements so they flow naturally and it doesn’t feel like a disjointed collection of points?
- What do you want the audience to feel in your pitch? Shock? Empathy? Intrigue? Design for it!
Step 3: Test it
- Record your pitch as a video, making sure it is to time!
- Post it to the slack group for friendly feedback!
- Feedback on other posts noting: what was clear or unclear? Where did you connect most and why? What was memorable? Where did they lose you?
- Litmus test: it’s good to still have questions, but do you understand the core elements enough to ask smart questions, and are you intrigued to learn more!
